Privacy policy

Last updated 3 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information Peak Running collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it. It applies to this website and to the coaching services we provide.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Peak Running provides personalised online running coaching. If you have a question about your privacy or this policy, you can reach us at bryanumali@peakrunningcoaching.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist through this website, we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • the goal you are training for, and any description you give us if you choose Something Else
  • when you are aiming to race
  • how long you have been running
  • how far you run each week
  • whether you have asked to receive updates about coaching

If you go on to become a coaching client, we will ask for more detail so that your training can be built around you. That is likely to include your date of birth, your recent race times, your training availability, and information about current or previous injuries. Information about your injuries or your physical condition is health information, which is treated as sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is given extra protection.

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that profile you. If we use a security check to confirm that a form submission comes from a person rather than an automated system, that provider may set a cookie strictly for that purpose.

How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you, through the waitlist form on this website or through your correspondence with us. We do not buy personal information or collect it from third parties.

You can browse the site without giving us anything. The information above is only collected if you choose to submit the form.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • let you know when coaching places open, and respond to your enquiry
  • understand your running background so we can assess whether our coaching suits your goals
  • build and adjust your training if you become a coaching client
  • send you updates about Peak Running, but only if you have asked for them

We will not use your information for anything unrelated to coaching without asking you first. We collect health information only with your consent and only where it is reasonably necessary for us to coach you safely.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use a small number of service providers to run the website and our email:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website and processes the form submission.
  • Google Workspace, which delivers and stores the email containing your enquiry.
  • Cloudflare, which we may use to check that form submissions come from a person rather than an automated system.

We may also disclose your information where we are required to do so by law.

When paid coaching opens, payments will be handled by a third party payment provider. That provider processes your card details directly and we do not see or store your full card number. We will name the provider here once payments are live.

Information sent overseas

The service providers above operate internationally, so your information may be stored on or accessed from servers outside Australia, most commonly in the United States. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers who are contractually committed to protecting your information.

Marketing and how to opt out

We only send marketing updates if you have ticked the box asking for them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing bryanumali@peakrunningcoaching.com. We will action it promptly.

Emails that are not marketing, such as a reply to your enquiry or a message about your coaching, will still be sent to you.

How we keep it safe

Your form submission is sent over an encrypted connection, and the email carrying it is sent over an encrypted connection as well. Access to the inbox holding enquiries is restricted and protected by multi factor authentication. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist details for as long as we are running the waitlist and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up with you. If you ask us to remove you, we will delete your details. Coaching records are kept for as long as we coach you and for a period afterwards where we are required or reasonably need to keep them.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email bryanumali@peakrunningcoaching.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request. If we refuse a request we will explain why in writing.

You can also ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first at bryanumali@peakrunningcoaching.com. Set out what happened and how you would like it resolved. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to give you an answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by calling 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
